Program Description:
The clear objective for health equity initiatives is transforming the healthcare delivery landscape to deliver more safe, effective, patient-centered and equitable care to all populations, especially underserved and marginalized communities. This session introduces participants to key opportunities to partner with community groups, public health departments, major employers and health plans as an integral part of their health equity playbook. Participants will learn about the distinct roles these stakeholders can play in reducing inequities and explore best practice examples and case studies to complete this session with a clear plan of action. This program will provide actionable steps leaders can take to help change their organization and community approaches to addressing health inequities.
Seminar Objectives:
- Identify partnership opportunities including community agencies, employers, insurers/payers, public health/government, the military and other healthcare providers.
- Create leadership accountability for linking quality of care with health equity.
- Promote inclusive community engagement and support for health equity.
- Establish a culture of inclusion where patients feel welcomed and diverse staff are valued and engaged in culturally effective care.
